I really like this bag. It's functional and comfortably fit all the stuff I needed for my trip to Scotland. I also like the look although when it's not evenly packed it gets a bit 'baggy' so the material could be a bit stiffer in my opinion. But overall a very good product!

this bag is BEAUTIFUL! Karl backpack will be my travel companion on my fantastic travels. I also must mention that the handwritten messages and the Charity Canvas Bag gift simply amazed me. I now plan to buy and another fantastic backpack.

Was traveling through Amsterdam about a month ago while visiting from the United States, Hawaii to be exact. While exploring the city, I randomly walked by your store and saw a lot of gear which caught my attention. I love the earth tones, the vintage look, and the leather accents and trim. I initially was hesitant to get and I told myself I'd walk around and think about it. Well after walking around for a few hours, I couldn't get the green Karl bag out of my mind so I left my family at a restaurant and made a 20 minute walk back to your store. I'm so glad I went back. I'm back home now and sometimes I just take the Karl out just to admire the design and durability of it. Words cannot express my love for it and I can brag saying that I bought it directly from your store in Amsterdam!

I love this backpack. I‘ve had the old black one made from military Nilon for almost 7 years now. After an accident which made it necessary for me to wear a hipbelt to distribute the weight better I gave my „old one“ (still looking brandnew although having been through countless backs of pick up trucks through desserts, having been handled on boats in south east Asia and many more experiences from long time backpacking) and there was no other choice for me than to get a new Karl with a hip belt. By now I even sold my old carry on trolley, solely using my Karl for every trip from a weekend away through a week of official conferences out of town up to 4 weeks of backpacking around the world. Because of it‘s beautiful looks and my raving review even two friends of mine bought one themselves and they are equally in love with it. This bag has amazing quality, beautiful looks and is easy to organize even for long term travel. It‘s worth every cent!

My son was travelling around the world on a two year OE. Fron New Zealand. While in Amsterdam he located your store and found your bag the "Karl" . He contacted me and told me he had found the most amazing bag but it was a bit expensive for him at the time and so as a birthday gift I sent him the money to enable him to buy the bag. He was so excited about the bag he videoed me raving about it and I still have that video on my feed.

At the time he purchased the color black.

Unfortunately while in the UK the bag was stolen from a car that he had it in while out with mates, and while devastated at the lost of the contents which included all of his teaching materials and his passport he was devastated about the loss of his backpack.

When he got to Australia he purchased a new backpack but was complaining to me that that it just wasn't the same.

He couldn't remember the name of the store, so on a mission I started searching for canvas backpacks in Amsterdam and ended up being able to find your store online with the very backpack that had been stolen although not in the same colour.

My emails were answered promptly, the purchase was simple, communication was super fast and efficient and the delivery tracked every step of the way.

I had such pleasure giving him the gift of a new backpack which was a total surprise to him.

Even yesterday he picked it up looked at me and just said mum I absolutely love this big I never thought I would see this again.

Unfortunately he hadn't registered the ID tag at the time of the loss of the first bag but we have since done that with the second.

The quality of the bag is amazing, super sturdy. the size is incredibly versatile from the ability to roll the bag up and down, and while a bit more expensive it is a bag that will definitely last a lifetime.

It was a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. He was talking about for several months and finally I got it for him. The backpack is quite big, which is actually perfect for us as we are frequently traveling from Hamburg to Munich and you can get your clothes in there some shoes, but also your laptop, etc. We can definitely recommend this backpack. It doesn’t just look cool, but it also fits all your needs.

No backpack is perfect, however I did a lot of research before deciding on purchasing the Karl 48h travel backpack and for my purposes I can say that it comes pretty close to being the perfect travel backpack for me.

In the ~3 years I have owned it I have now traveled with, and lived in, the Karl in Asia, Europe and South America for months on end -and I could not be happier.

It has come with me on trains, planes, boats, buses and motorcycles -as well as hiking longer distances in various terrains and it has been working flawlessly in every situation.

I strongly recommend to get the additional waist belt as it will be more comfortable to carry your belongings. It’s a pretty big bag and you will be glad you have it especially after you load it up with some tax free bottles on your way back home.

What I love the most, besides the retro design, expandability and durability, is the fact that you can alter the shape which comes much in handy when you need to squeeze the bag into a tight overhead compartment on a bus or similar. And yes, the suitcase style opening is brilliant.

Some thoughts. I wish the side pocket was a bit more roomy or expandable because not much fits inside. Also I would recommend using a flat water bottle for stowing in the front flap as there really is no easy access to a flask. (The brand Hip has very good ones that fit perfectly. A little pricy though.)
The straps are a little bit difficult to adjust and the chest strap can come loose and get lost. Same with the small leather bands. But it’s not a dealbreaker in any way.

But overall I am super happy I invested in this bag and although the leather straps have gotten a little scraped and dirty from the times I was forced by airport staff to check it in (due to overbooked flights) I am confident it will last for a very very long time.

And did I say it is rainproof? Yes! Even in heavy rain the contents of your bag will not get wet.

All in all I absolutely love it!

During these years I lost the chest strap and some leather straps but the great people from Property of.. were so kind to send me replacements free of charge.

Overall I would rate the customer experience 11 out of 10. Everything from answering questions and showcasing details on video call to cute handwritten notes on arrival. Perfect customer service!

After three years with my second bag pack from the property of it started to show some wearing off. I contacted them to ask how to best repair it. They sent me a completely new Karl without any charge!!!

Absolutely love this pack. I was recently in Amsterdam and passed by your store at [****], the wonderful display of globes caught my eye. I returned a couple hours later when it opened and Rebecca was super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I ended up buying an "Alex" in the store. I was torn between that and a "Karl", and decided to order one when I got home as I had too much to bring back as it was. Simply wonderful bags, I can use "Alex" for shorter trips, and around town, and "Karl" for longer trips.

Great bag, I use it everyday for work as well as grocery shopping and travelling. I only wish that it would retain its form a little bit better when it isn't full.
I also did an interrail trip with it and couldn't complain.

Great backpack for my daily work life

I only travel with a carry on and have been wanting a backpack style for quite some time. It’s so convenient when traveling to multiple places on a big trip! It’s so much easier than using a roller bag to get around. I haven’t used it for a small trip yet, but definitely will. It’s very good quality and seems durable so far. It’s got plenty of space and is a nice looking bag. Two of my friends have one and travel all around with theirs. Their bags are still in great condition. I’ve recommended this bag to my sister and others. Thanks!

I really wanted to like this bag, and it does a lot well, but it’s too big in the wrong way. It doesn’t hold its shape at all, and barely fits under the seat of an airplane.

I’d also add that the color looks nothing like the picture. I ordered blue, but blue really looks closer to the gray color.

Overall build quality seems to be hit or miss. Stitching and materials are great, but the zippers are terrible for this price point. Definitely something I wouldn’t have purchased had I seen it in person. Darn shame I can’t return it.

This backpack it's amazing. Perfect for weekend trip, it's comfortable to wear, lot of storage, very good quality and it looks so cool to me. It's a beauty!
