Which bag for which trip? The honest chooser
Every bag below is designed in our Amsterdam studio, made from recycled PET bottles, and covered by a lifetime warranty. But they pack differently. This is the guide we give customers in our stores — by trip, not by product.
Hand luggage only (budget airlines)
Alex Backpack | 20L — opens flat from the back like a suitcase and fits under the seat in front of you on EasyJet and Ryanair, so you skip the cabin-bag fee. 16″ laptop compartment. This is the one most commuters end up choosing.
Toby Backpack | 20L — same size class with a classic roll-top and buckle look.
Daily commute with a laptop
Josh 18L and Lenny 24L — padded 15″ laptop compartments; Lenny adds reflective strips for cycling home after dark. William Work Bag if you prefer a briefcase silhouette over a backpack.
City day trips
Charlie 9L — small, light, zips fully open. Hunter 13L — the in-between size. Kim and Mika day bags if you carry little and want it cross-body.
A weekend away (1–3 nights)
Marco Overnight | 31L — a backpack that opens like a suitcase, with an inside that swallows packing cubes. Francis Foldable Overnight — extra light, folds away flat when you don’t need it, 3–4 nights of space.
A week or more
Karl Travel Backpack | 44L — our biggest: full suitcase opening, compression straps, and an optional supportive hip belt that moves the weight to your hips. Maximum cabin size on most full-service airlines.
By bike
Tom Bike Bag — clicks onto your rack and converts to a shoulder bag. Zoe — made for the Brompton front block.
The packable spare
Bob 16L and Bobby 12L — fold into their own pocket; bring one empty, fly home with souvenirs.
Still unsure?
Ask us — the WhatsApp button reaches a real human in our Amsterdam store (German works too), or book a video call and we’ll show you any bag in detail. Every Property Of… bag comes with a free personalised ID tag and our worldwide Lost&Found service: if your bag ever goes missing, the finder can reach us and we bring it back to you.
